Blog #13
If
I had to rate my blog experience on a scale of 1 through 10 I would give it an
8. I really enjoyed some of the questions and got into them. I didn’t find it
difficult at all to find time once a week to write a few hundred words. The only
blog I missed was the eight blog and I only missed it because I never got an
email about it. I don’t know how that happened but I intended to write every
single blog.
My
favorite blogs were the one when we wrote about our closest friends and this
past one when we talked about where we would be when we are 40. I enjoyed
reflecting on where I would be in 20 years. It was a cool way to kind of put all
my goals and dreams out there. I look forward to raising a family. Writing about
my closest friends was cool because I had just made a video that had all my
good friends in it and I thought it was perfect to fit that in there.
In
the earlier blogs I really got into talking about my faith and what I believe
in. I got a lot out of writing about what I think of God and Religion. It was a
cool exercise because I had really been thinking of those issues and it helped
to put them onto paper.
The
blog that I found was the most difficult was the one when we had to talk about
how our experience at Loyola has been a Jesuit experience. I kind of drew a
blank and couldn’t think of anything besides your class. I am just finishing my
first year here so I know that was the main reason but I still felt like I should
have been able to come up with something. I really struggled to get over 300
words on that one.
I
really think that you should continue giving students the choice to do the blog
or write the essay. I would say that you can tell if a student is serious about
your class if they choose to do the blog. It’s easy to sit there at the
beginning of the semester and choose to do the essay so you don’t have to worry
about it for another few months. Students that pick to do the blog realize that
their going to have to keep up with it every week but it is much easier than
writing a long essay right during finals. I thought it was an obvious choice to
go with the blog. I can write 500 words on a bunch of different subjects as
opposed to having to write 2000 words on one subject.
I
liked getting your feedback from my blogs because I really did put thought and
effort into them. I think you should stick with it next year. Thanks for a
great semester. I learned a lot from you and Iggy.
